The standard Peugeot hoses are made of inexpensive rubber pipes which can expand under pressure, resulting in a loss of braking force, and a spongy brake pedal.

By fitting uprated braided hoses to the car, brake pedal feel can become more solid and predictable, and more of the force can be applied through the system to the caliper pistons, meaning better braking ability.

This is a very worthwhile, if not essential, modification when carrying out any sort of major brake or caliper conversion.
